If You Are Reporting an Accident to Your Insurance Company

STEP 1: Call Modern Automotive

If you can still drive your car, bring it to Modern Automotive. We will contact the insurance company for you, as well as take care of the repair authorization and damage appraisal process.

STEP 2: File a Police Report

In case the damage to your car is over $1,000, you may need to file a police report.

How do you determine the value of the damage? If you are not sure, call Modern Automotive. We will help you through this process to make sure you make the right decisions.

In most of the cases, if the damage to your vehicle is clearly visible, the damage will exceed $1,000.

If the police arrive to the accident scene, a report police report will be filed. In other case, your car may need to be taken to a Collision Reporting Centre to file the report.

STEP 3: Make an Insurance Claim

In order to get your repairs covered by your insurance policy, you have to report the accident to the insurance company and receive a claim number.

STEP 4: Find Out if You are Eligible for a Rental Car

After you get your claim number, the insurance company will let you know if you are eligible to get a rental car while your own is being repaired.

STEP 5: Leave Your Car with Modern Automotive

STEP 6: Get a Repair Schedule

Modern Automotive and the insurance appraiser will discuss a timeline for completing all of the repairs, so you will know when to expect your car to be ready.

STEP 7: Pick Up Your Car

At the appointed time, you will come into Modern Automotive to pick up your car. You will receive a full explanation of all the work done and what was repaired and replaced.

If You Are Not Reporting the Repairs to Your Insurance Company

STEP 1: Call Modern Automotive

We will be happy to answer all of your questions and guide you throughout the entire process.

If your car is drivable, simply bring it to Modern Automotive, and we will provide an estimate and schedule the repair appointment.

Headache Relief: In case your car is not drivable, simply give us a call, and we will arrange for a free tow.

STEP 2: Confirm that the Collision is Minor

In case of a minor collision, we will inspect the damage and make sure that it does not require a police report.

STEP 3: Get a Repair Schedule

Modern Automotive will give you a timeframe required to complete the repairs, so that you know exactly when your car will be ready.

STEP 4: Pick Up Your Car

At the appointed time, you will come into Modern Automotive to pick up your car. You will be given a full break down of all the work done and all the repairs and replacements.
